Christmas Treats

hot cocoa and cookiesI love this time of the year, I always have. I bake way to much, but luckily we share all the goodies.

Earlier this week we made sugar cookies so my daughter could take treats to her friends at school. Of course we all enjoyed some hot chocolate and a few cookies before packing them up nice for others.

This is my favorite recipe for sugar cookies. One of my closest friends passed it along to me and we make these for any occasion. They are soft, chewy and so delicious. Hope you and yours have fun baking a batch.

Sugar Cookies

1 c powdered sugar

1 c granulated sugar

1 c butter, softened

2 eggs

3/4 c olive oil

1 t vanilla

1 t baking soda

1 t sea salt

1 t cream of tartar

4 c + 4 heaping teaspoons of flour

Cream sugar, oil and butter, add eggs. Add dry ingredients, mix well. Roll dough into small balls. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet; sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.
